The Colourful World of Art Glass
The term Art Glass refers to pieces of glass purely made as a sculpture or decorative purposes with no main function. Historians called the Art Glass phase the "Brilliant Period". In the 1900s it was replaced with the term 'Art Nouveau'. The term Studio Glass is used to talk about modern pieces. Glass can also be combined with other materials or techniques including Sandblasting, Copper Foil, Engraving or Painting. Glass can be decorated in many different ways by mixing colours, frosting, staining,over-lays and more.
