Think of all the pretty things!
The world at the moment is a crazy and busy place, when you start to feel it’s weight and pressure STOP, TURN AROUND and look for the simple pleasures in life.
Try putting on the kettle and get out your most favorite trio. Floral, retro or oriental patterns, pour a strong cup of tea a cup into your fine china cup, sit back and enjoy.
Head out for a walk in the sunshine and pick an assortment of wildflowers. Arrange them in your most beautiful vase. It could be the one your Nana gave you for your 21st or a crystal vase you got one Valentine’s Day. If you don’t have a vase an old milk bottle or pharmacy bottle used once upon a time will do the trick.
If it’s raining, get cozy and take time to flick through your families photo albums or reread old postcards. Breath in the memories from years gone past, then squirrel then away again in a gorgeous hand carved wooden box or in tapestry covered piano stool.
Enjoy rearranging your windowsill or shelf. Moving special items around can change the way you see them.
Take time and create a glory box. This can be carefully arranged in a suitcase, decoupage box or even in an allocated draw. Read through old Valentine’s Day cards, school reports, photos from sports days or childhood milestones.
Invite someone for morning tea. Bake a cake and serve it on your favorite cake plate. Use that vintage cake slice or jam and butter knife set your Aunty gave you.
Take time, reflect in history and create new memories.
